Fifty two years ago in 1972, AADAP was born out of the intentions to better improve its community health through treating substance rehabilitation, providing prevention education and also supporting both educational endeavors, and job opportunities. It rose out of a time when several young Asian American youth died from drug overdose in the 70's. From that time, AADAP has grown into a comprehensive non profit agency that offers programs that include Drug Court Services, Gang Prevention, WorkSource job training and services, HIV/AIDS outreach, tobacco education and a for-profit business venture MTC Construction. Today, AADAP continues the valued tradition of culturally competent and sensitive services that are now available in 12-different languages, and are able to assist anyone in the journey to a new sober life of being self-sufficient and a productive member of society. "AADAP also uses evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Contingency Management (CM), and Trauma Informed Care (TIC) from prevention to harm-reduction to intervention. Additional services include, substance use prevention and mental health capacity service deliveries."
