LDLC: heavier first-half losses
LDLC announced on Friday that it had increased its losses in the first half of the year, explaining that the unfavorable economic and political climate had weighed on its profitability.The online retail specialist, positioned in the IT and high-tech sectors, reported a net loss of 7.3 million euros in the six months to the end of September, compared with -3.7 million euros a year earlier.EBITDA also showed a loss, at -2.5 million euros for the first half of 2024-2025, compared with a positive figure of 2.9 million euros for the first half of 2023-2024.Half-year sales came to 243.7 million euros, down 8.7% on the first half of 2023-2024 and 9.1% on a like-for-like basis (excluding the impact of Rue du Commerce, which has been consolidated since July 2024).In a note, analysts at TP ICAP Midcap refer to 'heavy losses, as expected', recalling that they were expecting 'significantly deteriorated' half-year results for their part.'We'll still have to be patient to see a clearing', warns the brokerage firm.In its press release, LDLC points out that its business is traditionally stronger in the second half of the year, which should enable it, in addition to the measures implemented to control operating costs, to improve its profitability in the second half.Following this publication, the LDLC share was down 0.6% on the Paris Bourse at the end of the morning.Copyright (c) 2024 CercleFinance.com.
